Terms of Service

Data-ish Community Membership Terms of Service

Back of the Napkin Consulting Effective Date: June 2026

1. What Your Membership Includes

  • A Data-ish Community membership includes the following:

  • A monthly expanded practitioner issue covering data, evaluation, and strategy topics relevant to nonprofit and mission-driven organizations.

  • A structured monthly activity designed to apply the issue content to your own work.

  • Access to a live monthly Zoom session where members bring their findings and work through problems together with other practitioners and Dana Benjamin-Allen.

Membership does not include one-on-one consulting services, individualized coaching, direct email access to Dana Benjamin-Allen, or access to Back of the Napkin Consulting's paid advisory or facilitation services. The community is a practitioner learning space, not a consulting engagement.

2. Billing and Renewal

Membership is billed annually at US$247.00 per year.

Your membership renews automatically on the anniversary of your original purchase date. You authorize Back of the Napkin Consulting to charge your payment method on file for each renewal period unless you cancel before your renewal date.

You will receive a reminder email thirty days before your renewal date and fourteen days before your renewal date. You will receive a final notice the day before your card is charged.

To cancel before your renewal date, you can manage your membership through the customer portal link included in your welcome email and renewal reminders, or by emailing dana@backofthenapkin.com with the subject line Membership Cancellation.

‍ ‍

3. Refund Policy

If you are not satisfied with your membership for any reason, you may request a full refund within thirty days of your original purchase date or your annual renewal date. Refund requests must be submitted by email to dana@backofthenapkin.com with the subject line Refund Request.

Refunds will not be issued after the thirty day window has passed.

If you believe you purchased your membership in error, contact us within thirty days and we will resolve it. Accidental purchase refunds are handled at our discretion and are generally honored within the thirty day window without question.

No partial or prorated refunds are issued for cancellations made after the thirty day refund window, regardless of how much time remains in your membership year.

‍ ‍

4. Access After Cancellation

If you cancel your membership, you retain full access to all member benefits through the end of the membership year you have already paid for. Access ends at the conclusion of that period.

If you receive a refund, your access ends on the date the refund is processed.

5. What We May Change

Back of the Napkin Consulting reserves the right to adjust the content, format, or timing of the monthly issue, activity, or Zoom session. We will notify members of any material changes by email at least thirty days in advance.

If we discontinue the Data-ish Community entirely, all active members will receive a prorated refund for the unused portion of their membership year.

6. Code of Conduct

The Data-ish Community Zoom sessions are a professional learning space. Members are expected to engage respectfully with other practitioners and facilitators. Back of the Napkin Consulting reserves the right to remove a member from community sessions without refund if their conduct is disruptive or harmful to other members.

7. Privacy

Your contact information and payment details are handled in accordance with Back of the Napkin Consulting's Privacy Policy. Payment processing is handled securely by Stripe. Back of the Napkin Consulting does not store your full payment card information.

Your email address and name will be used to deliver your membership benefits and send membership-related communications. We do not sell or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
